We are well into the Summer at the moment and what better way to celebrate the warm weather than by buying your favorite Geek something they will treasure. So many people liked the last one I put up, so I figured I would do a Geek Gift Ideas part 2! This just might turn into a series who knows. Like most people, you know that your favorite Geek has some interesting taste in collectibles, movies, music, games, and even clothes! Just because I shouldn’t wear my Pikachu hoodie on the streets doesn’t mean I won’t. Let’s go over some more great ideas of gifts you can buy to show that special person how much you care about them and their interests. All of these items are available at Think Geek!
Ladies Hylian Poncho
Past the enormous Death Mountain, across the beautiful Lake Hylia, you will find some very well dressed people. Even heroes want to look their best sometimes you know. Although we’re in Summer there are those nights that get pretty cool. Not cool enough to put pants on instead of shorts, that’s just crazy right there. No no no. For those nights though you can pick up a nice stylish Poncho designed after the Breath Of The Wild Heroes tunic. The Poncho is a nice blue color with the gold design around it. The best part, in my opinion, is the big Tri-Force on the back going from left shoulder to right. This isn’t a cheaply made Poncho either, this is knitted fabric with 53% Cotton and 47% Polyester.
Although you might feel the urge to go around hunting Bokoblins and getting your hands dirty, you want to take good care of this Poncho. Make sure to Machine wash it on cold and dry it on a flat surface. That’s the price you have to pay to be the best looking Hero in all of Hyrule. If you like this Poncho, click on the picture below to pick one up. Side effects of buying the Ladies Hylian Poncho are sudden urges to grab and throw pottery, the ability to speak and interact with people without saying a word, and perfect blonde hair.
D-Pad USB Hub
Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A, and Start. No, I didn’t just put a hex on you. That is one of the most famous and recognizable cheat codes in gaming history. A lot of gamers used to use this code all the time back in the 8-bit and even 16-bit era of gaming to beat some tough games. There are some people out there who just don’t appreciate the D-pad anymore and I respect that. They’re wrong obviously because the D-pad is amazing! Show your favorite gamer the D-pad Hub and they will burst out in tears of joy. Not only is this a great homage to the golden age of gaming but it helps power up to 3 devices with its 3 USB 2.0 inputs.
You’ll know when a device is connected by the arrow light on the Pad when you plug in a device the light glows. There is a maximum transfer speed of up to 480 Mbps (mega bites per second) and a maximum voltage of 500mA. (mili amps). The device isn’t overly big sizing up at 2.4″ x 2.4″ x 0.7″, so you can easily keep it in your bag or even pocket if you want. You never know when multiple people need to charge their phone, ok that’s almost all the time so you and your favorite gamer will look like heroes! Although the Hub may look really cool and it will be a lifesaver someday, it won’t help anyone beat Contra. You need a controller with an actual D-pad on it. I know because I tried for scientific research. To buy your D-Pad Hub just click on the picture below!
Jumanji Statue Game Pieces
There was a movie that came out in 1995 that took the world by storm and made everyone think twice about playing board games. I think that’s when board games started to fizzle out from pop-culture too. Anyway, the movie I am talking about is Jumanji! Way before Dwayne Johnson (the Rock) was slinging bad guys left and right to escape the world of Jumanji there was the Board game that needed to be beaten to take the world of Jumanji out of ours. These pieces pictured below are the character pieces from the first movie. There’s the Ivory colored Rhinoceros, metallic Elephant, obsidian-colored Crocodile, and the jade colored Monkey. These playing piece collectibles are perfect for that tropical decor you might be going for and who knows you could invite friends over to play a rousing game. Just warn them about the drums and the CGI monkeys, those things are creepy. The statues stand at 4″ tall and x2-3″ in diameter so they won’t be taking up too much space on your collectors’ mantle. They’re of course not made from real ivory but rather a solid polyresin with felt bottoms, this way if they start moving on their own they won’t scratch your table! How considerate. They were painstakingly crafted to match the look of the game pieces used in the movie, down to the last detail. If your Geek has good taste in movies, like most of us do, then they will absolutely love these statues. Seriously though, if you hear drums and see Robin Williams pop out looking like a wild man give him a big hug from us. We miss him. The Question Block Cookie Jar
Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar? I really wanted that double chocolate cookie and I am a bit upset now. Introducing the cookie jar that you don’t need to keep cookies in. That’s right you can put gummy bears in it, Kit-Kat bars, heck there’s a question mark on the jar go nuts and put some jello in it. The jar is not misleading at all with that question mark telling people there could be something good in here or maybe not. Even though Mario goes around the mushroom kingdom hitting these blocks it is advised to not hit this one because it’s ceramic. There is a circular lid on top with a handle to grip making it easier to take out the mystery items inside. The jar weighs in at around 3 lbs and has a capacity of about 80oz (2 liters), so it can hold a decent amount. If you’re favorite Geek and you are looking for new kitchen items this is a must have to show off your gaming spirit. If you see Mario though make sure he doesn’t try to break this open looking for coins. That’s just rude. If you want to buy this cookie jar click on the picture below!
