A common question we get is what do you sit on while gaming? Personally I have a DX Racer chair, the black and white color scheme of it makes my set up come together. I find it to be one of the best chairs I have sat on while gaming, it suits my needs for the type of games I play on the PC. We work along side Chairs4Gaming.com to provide you with some of the best Video Gaming Chairs around. Check them out when you’re done reading and pick up a couple chairs for you, the kids, or heck get your boss one!. Now, you might be thinking that you don’t really know much about gaming chairs. My friend you have come to the right place, let’s talk about gaming some chairs!
Do I really need a gaming chair?
That is a great question madam or sir. We all love to play video games as a hobby. Unless you’re in one of the eSports league, in which case that’s your job. One heck of a job if you ask me. Getting back on track though. We typically have to wake up in the morning, go to work or school then get to come home and relax. Of course after you take sparky for a walk, so he doesn’t go to the bathroom inside, we like to game. A lot of people who own PC’s know this better than most but this will apply for console owners as well.
The idea of having a good gaming chair is a matter of preference. Do you need gaming chairs? Not necessarily. Does it make gaming more comfortable and easier on your bottom half? Yes. Yes it does. As said before, Video Gaming Chairs are all about preference. Do you want something built for comfort or do you want something built more for ascetics? When you figure out what you’re looking for then the fun begins!
Is that built for comfort or for speed?
When purchasing a gaming chair, you should have a good idea of what you’re looking for. Is it more of a Pro Gaming chair or a Casual gaming chair. If you are planning on having a pretty long gaming session you want to look into something that has more padding on the bottom for your, well, bottom. If you are a casual gamer, there is no judgment here, then it wouldn’t matter as much.
Just like the video games that we play there are plenty of different Video Gaming Chairs that will suit what you are looking for. If you’re more into fighters, racing games or shooters, you can take a look into the racing bucket chairs with the individual color schemes. Not only will that help immerse you a little bit more but the in your face color of your chair will get you pumped up to go win some matches. If you’re into puzzle games, RPG’s, or platformers perhaps a more laid back, fluffier type of chair would be your speed. Such as an office chair. They are designed for hours of sitting and would be perfect for you to sit down and level up your character to 100 and beyond!
When you’re serious about gaming or at least just want to be seriously comfortable while watching a screen, you want to at least check out a couple of different chairs. That begs the question. Did I leave the oven on? Also, how many types of chairs are there?! There are at least 4 different type of chairs. You have:
- PC gaming chair
- Racing gaming chair
- Rocker gaming chair
- Bean bag gaming chair.
All of these different kinds of chairs have their own “perks” if you will. The PC and racing gaming chairs would be more geared towards sitting in front of a PC of course. They would be more what someone would first think of while thinking of a video gaming chair. An upright chair with wheels and cushions on the bottom and the back. It is more of a preference of which one to choose. The racing chair keeps you locked in for the most part and traditional PC gaming chairs are more like office chairs. You can move around a little bit, let’s face it some of us need a little elbow room to duck and move while playing. You know who you are.
The two that would stand out like sore thumbs and are mostly better for console gaming would be the rocking chair and the bean bag chair. Think about trying to play a PC game while sitting on a bean bag chair. Exactly. Not happening. The rocking chair is really for those who get into their gaming session. You can swivel as much as you need to in your comfy chair and not need to worry about falling over. The bean bag chair might be the best thing for casual gamers. The bean bag chair is easy to move around and can kind of be put aside if not being used. It’s like you’re in college again, or if you’re in college you know what we’re talking about. When in use you can just sit back, relax and crack open a cold one knowing you don’t care that you just placed 8th again because Johnny hit you with a bombardment of red shells. Right before you were about to cross the finish line.
In conclusion. Do you need a gaming chair? Yes! Only if you want one and are comfortable with the purchase. There are no right or wrong ways to play video games, it’s all about having a good time. If you own a console, picking up a rocking chair or bean bag chair would help a little bit so you don’t have to sit 60 feet away from the screen on the couch. PC gaming, if you plan on spending hours on a session you’ll want to pick up a nice racing chair or PC gaming chair. We love everything gaming, as we’re sure you do as well. So, why not come up with your own conclusions. Pick up either one of these video gaming chairs or pro video gaming chairs we talked about and see how this will be another great addition to your favorite hobby.
